I got fired yesterday. They didn’t give me an explicit reason other than that there were budget cuts and that I wasn’t living up to my title. However, when I asked the guy, my boss’ boss for some more specific examples, he didn’t have any because he had apparently heard it second hand. So I’d basically been fired without really knowing why.
That the client had budget cuts is well known. However, the negative feedback is extremely vague. I even question whether it existed.
What will be my next move? I’ve contact my head hunters and some of the HR people I know. Whether or not I will be staying in advertising is up in the air. I know that I will remain very devoted to my independent web development projects and will be focusing on getting a new job as soon as possible.
