Meeting Ann Fudge
I got to meet the Chairman and CEO of Young and Rubicam Brands, our umbrella company this morning for a group breakfast. It was great to meet such an impactful and high profile person and confirm that she is indeed human. I got to get a glimpse into the daily efforts and struggles of someone at the helm of our organization and also ask her some questions and receive some tips and feedback.
Whether it was intended to be or not, what was interesting was that it was a bit of a griping session on the part of the other attendees. I understand that when you meet someone who heads your organization, the tendency is to want to get them to solve your problems. However, I took it upon myself as an opportunity to learn and further my career. I hope to engage her again at some point.
